The newest associate to join our network is Heather Jeffrey, who moved to Dubai as adjunct faculty at Middlesex University after completing her PhD in 2017. Heather’s doctoral studies have focussed on the influence of tourism on Tunisian women, but she has also researched work life balance and maternity protection in Malaysia. Carla Ricaurte Quijano is an Associate Professor in Tourism at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She has worked as a tourism-planning consultant for the Ministry of Tourism, various local authorities and NGOs in her country, and worked on the formulation of the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development.
