NJERI GACHUHI

Njeri Gachuhi is a lawyer and a social justice activist who merged her passion for travelling and fighting for the rights of women and sexual minorities to build a travel start up called The Travelling Wakili.

Wakili is Swahili for lawyer. The Travelling Wakili is a bespoke travel company built around providing safe and inclusive travel experiences for women and queer folk in Kenya and the larger African continent.

Njeri has been involved in various advocacy movements within the queer and legal spaces in Kenya and brings this aspect of advocacy and education to the trips that she hosts and curates.

She encourages women to embrace solo travel, provides safety tips, delves into historical and cultural contexts and amplifies the diverse and marginalised voices of the travellers who come on her trips.
