Chistaa Goudarzi

Chistaa Goudarzi is an urban and Tourism researcher whose work explores the intersections of tourism, space, gender, ethnicity, and power in marginalised contexts. She is currently a PhD researcher at the University of Westminster, where her doctoral research examines how tourism shapes, and is shaped by, women’s lived experiences and ethnic identities in marginalised regions. Her research is supported by the Quintin Hogg Trust Studentship.

Chistaa holds an MA in Urban Design from the University of Tehran and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from the Tehran University of Art. Her research interests include feminist urbanism, socio-spatial justice, gender equality in tourism, community-led tourism, and the relationships between identity, place, and everyday spatial practices.

Alongside her doctoral research, Chistaa serves as the Event Manager for the Equality in Tourism Award, supporting an internationally recognised initiative that celebrates organisations advancing gender equality across the tourism and hospitality sectors.
